“12 Simple Ways to Supercharge Your Brain.”
This must be interesting, I supposed. So let’s go through the steps together and see how I have treated my brain so far.
Eat Almonds
Ok, sometimes you could see me popping some seeds into my mouth, but I haven’t made it a routine. Yet. Salted or honey coated are my favourites.
Drink Apple Juice
Refer to the reason for eating almonds. I read from somewhere, when you eat an apple, your mind is relaxed upon smelling the fresh and pleasing smell. Especially the green apples. Same can be done with kiwi, bananas and lemon.
Sleep well
Not that I’ve slept THAT well now, but nowadays I dozed myself off peacefully and easily. I may still need to consider on the amount of sleep I get because this is my wish since my first day of teaching.
Enjoy Simple Pleasures
The suggestions included:
- Enjoy music you love (no problem with that I guess)
- Play with children (no kids are around, except for the coming holidays. My sister’s brood is coming.)
- Appreciate others (still disagree a bit on this).
- Run few miles a day, bike or swim (considering that there’s no futsal court around and my dancing practices with my students are almost for every week, so yeah – checked this one).
- Start a blog (checked).
- Take a yoga class or Total Wellness routine (I’m interested).
Exercise Your Mind
Here are what you can do according to the website:
- Play scrabble or crossword puzzle
- Volunteer
- Interact with others
- Start a new hobby such as blogging, reading, painting, bird watching
- Learn new skill or a foreign language
Practice Yoga or Meditation
I still haven’t gotten myself a chance to sign in in one of the classes yet, but I’m reaaaaalllly excited to join in. It’s just that time waits for no men. Dang!
Reduce Sugar Intake
I should forgive myself for having a large glass of Pepsi Twist now.
Eat Whole Wheat
The only whole meal I consume is whole meal bread.
Eat a light meal at night
Instead, I took a light meal in the afternoon and feast on extra proportion of meal at nights.
Develop imagination
I’m so good at this one. To me, this is the only activity in which I can indulge myself in. That’s the only time when I can be Mrs. Cristiano Ronaldo. Or Dean Winchester’s hot fling. Or replacing Blake Lively as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl. Or . . . oh, I can go on with these all nights!
Control your temper
‘Nuff said. This is the one I fail to control since my early existence on earth.
Take Vitamin B-complex
Used to have this. But nothing’s changed, so you know what I did, don’t you?
Oh my. I think I should re-START my ways of living all over again.
