Enjoying this

Here I go again, signed up for a new blogspot. Compared to my Friendster blog, I have to say I like Blogspot a little bit more because of the choices of the layouts. I have learned that most of my friends own Blogspot too. There's an extra credit for that.

I love blogging since I knew what it is. Before, I used to have used-and-almost-torn exercise books from my studying years as my "journal". It is securely kept at my residence in Kuching. There, I included whatever possible. It must be surprising to say that I composed some poems when I was studying. Included in the "journal", I'd paste in tags or labels of favourite items I bought, receipts of 'memorable' purchase from a handsome store (I have a lot from MU Store, Sg. Wang, KL), or I would just scribble down names of people I liked or disliked. Trust me, you wouldn't want to know who they were.

Almost a decade ago, I owned a very bulky 'journal' that I really loved. I took down notes on everything happened to or around me, almost everyday. I even had a minor group of friends, who have 'special' access to it, to write whatever they wanted and had them decorated their 'posts'. I also had pictures of Manchester United players especially Ryan Giggs, since I admire this man, until this very minute. Unfortunately, it's no longer with me since somebody had claimed her rights on that book. I was like, whatever.

"You can have that, but you can't have the memories."

Dude, I really miss that book.

I have been traveling here and there after finishing my Matriculation in Kuching (2001). I went to Peninsular to further study, for 5 years altogether. The experience I gained throughout the years were invaluable, but I found no time for a hand-written 'journal' anymore. That was when I fell in love with blogging. It's a convenient way to express yourself and on top of that, you could share you opinions with people of various status and races too.

Frankly speaking, I love creative writing since forever. Especially in English Language. I scored myself with marks that I could be proud of when I was in school. Being a teacher now, sometimes, I do enjoy reading some of my students' essays. However, compared to my time in school few years back, students' proficiency in English Language nowadays is, truthfully, HURTFUL. Literally and Orally. Besides, they are only a few of them who are expressive enough to keep me busy reading their composition. But, hey, as long as you have the will to write, it'll show in your essay. And that what makes your piece worth a reading! So, don't give up composing, students! :)

Before I pen off, what I hope is that I would stay blogging or 'express-and-share'ing myself, using any kind of tools available. Because simply, this is what I enjoy doing.
