Rehab. Wedding. Family. Sisterhood. Anne Hathaway.
You should really give this movie a try if you're looking for something like a 'based on a true story' drama. I felt like I was there for the whole wedding (preparation - solemnization - reception and all). Plus, the wedding was a beautiful one and Miss Hathaway's performance was outstanding. Until now, I feel like this family does exist and lives nearby because the conflict, the arguments, the party and everything felt so real. I just like the part whenever Kim (Hathaway) and Rachel spoke to each other about the crisis and respect that kind openness when we're having an argument with a friend or a family member. I know it's only in a movie but it's good if we, the Eastern people, practise something like this more often. It's just us and our norm I guess.
...and while watching a part of the movie in which Kim was surprised when she learnt that she's not gonna be the Maid of Honour, I couldn't help to think of someone I knew and I hope that she should've watched this movie and got the message in what Rachel had to say to Kim in this scene.
"Why is being a MOH so important to you? This is not about you. Any of these is not about you, Kim." ya, something like that.
And oh, the wedding was just lovely and so was the family and friends. You know I got emotional in any weddings (be it in the movies or for real). In a nutshell, it's another heartwarming and a beautiful story that you should give a shot to while DVD-shopping!
Till then, happy get-back-to-work! ♥
