Yes! I am walking down the aisle in three months time and I have no time to get nervous (pembulak). I’ve told myself I need to stay calm and enjoy every moment of this. Because if I don’t enjoy ‘em, I’m afraid I might crash my daughter’s wedding plan someday. Haha!
The theme has been decided for both ceremonies – church & banquet. Other than red/white affair, I’m setting a theme for myself in choosing stuff for the day. It’s a theme I call – “NOW or NEVER”. Everything would be decided on this mindset. The “perfect” dress design, the bridesmaids’ dresses, the bridal car, the this the that the those the they . . . . . I wouldn’t want to look back at these days and regret over the past saying, “I should’ve gone with the black dress.” NGAAARR!!! Black. In the meantime, I hope the wedding will reflect the whole relationship between my “R-Pattz” and I. Always people would mistakenly think that I wear the pants in this relationship but I actually don’t. It’s a “Ricardo-thing” you wouldn’t understand, but me. Hehehe..
This wonderful man in my life has given me so much freedom not only in planning the day, but in our relationship too. That’s one of the many reasons I chose him over Jude Law Cristiano Ronaldo Adam Levine (udah.. udah.. start lah sidak tok!!). When asked about the preparation, people would kinda said that “Wouldn’t it be nice if u ask him first/pick the dress with him?” Seriously, I did. Like I said, It’s a “Ricardo-thing” you wouldn’t understand *re-read this paragraph*. And why is it very hard to accept the fact? I don’t know.
Talking about preparation. We have just paid the deposit for the banquet hall; I bought the kain for the bridesmaids’ dresses with the Maid-of-Honour. *wink* I know, the dresses would look good on that day, I just hope that the tailor give extra attention and care while making them. Haha! We even went to check out the gifts’ shop, but it was closed! No panic here (yet) because I had purchased kain for my girls. One little step at a time. I can do this!
On the other hand, we’ve had our wedding photoshoot months before the actual day (I won’t call it a pre-wedding photoshoot as people would confuse it with the “relationship” photoshoot.) Nak ka last time org kawen berambik gambar time ari berlangsung juak. These days we have it done months before the actual day. Yes, fiancé & I have been planning to freeze “US” as an unmarried couple (relationship photoshoot) within these few weeks. Enough about definition.
Talking about our experience in doing the photoshoot, it was one HELL of a fun+tiring day! Patrick, the photographer and his assistant (forgot to ask name, though!) had been superbly cool & helpful. His instructions were clear and he knew exactly what we wanted. My make-up artist, Nicol is one cute lady and I love her make-up sense! She matched the accessories, wigs, hair-do, make-up very well! Thank God, it’s been a good experience working with these people so far. Before this, I had been warned by friends on FB on their services. I hope my bridal service continues to amuse me until the day I return my dresses the day after the wedding! They had sent some pics to us, and I like them. Here’s a sneak peek of one! It's unprofessionally taken by my Maid of Honour actually but I love this picha!! :)
(In case you wonder which bridal shop it is,
it’s the one shop you see on your left if you’re heading towards the cit from tHe spring hehehe..)
Next was to find the rings that fit us both. All I can say is we love our pick!
One of the most difficult tasks other than budgeting is I think sorting the guests. We’re done with friends. Now, we’re stuck with guests among relatives & families’ friends. I treasure my friends’ understanding that only CLOSE to us are invited. (pssst, one shouldn’t ask the bride/groom of their choices in picking guests. NEVER!). Talking about guests, it’s still a headache until now and I think it’d get worse when we want to do the table arrangement later! U know, Si A sik maok nangga muka Si B. Si C lamak dah bermasam muka dgn Si Z. Macam ya bahhhh… Fenin! Fenin!
Pre-marriage course is next on our agenda. We’re having ours at St. Joseph. The solemnization of the wedding will take place at St. Thomas’ Cathedral after we sought advice/permission of the priests from both Churches. A simple blessing ceremony at St. Joseph will follow soon thereafter. The 1st session of the pre-marriage course will be on the second Saturday & Sunday of Sept, followed by the 2nd session, on the weekend after. (yerrr… kacak urang lok, gi kursus kawen. Boleh embak sik kad biru LDP ho??)
We too had picked our photographers. They happen to be our own dear and close friends – Addhem Adrian & Ee Ali. (click the names to see their pieces of photo-arts!) I like the way they both convey the message & mood through their pictures and how they can make a simple, cheap, little things look expensive! Addhem is doing a freelance while Ee is kinda having it as a hobby at first, and he is slowly taking his baby steps to Wall of Fame with each photoshot he made especially for weddings! One of fiance's close friends has agreed to put up pic slideshow for us too Thanks, Aaron!
I am fishing excited about the whole thing and I don’t wanna ruin it by getting mad at how sloooooow it goes hehee.. Maybe I was frustrated that I couldn’t get the access to do the preparation well since I’m hundreds of miles away from home. Luckily I have a supercool fiancé, who understands me that much, walaupun mala dikerepak. I kinda sense it these days that my temper easily cools off whenever I’m with him. Yes, that’s what a life partner is all about. Bringing the best out of you ME. Love u for that, Mr. Human! (ngaarrr!! Nak madah diriknya tek VAMPIRE.. Mati kita khekkk!!)
Clock is ticking but NO, I don’t want it to sloooowww down. I’m getting there and let’s bring it on.
My girls, are you ready? When’s the parttaaaaaayyyy?? Heeeeeeeeee…!
