I have several friends who are fat. But I love them and never bother to ask, "Why the weight gain?" However, it's the new 9th Wonder of The World - why on earth friends ask me again and again and again and again, "Why the weight loss?" Like, "HELLO!" Pernahkah aku berisi ditangga kau??
I give you two situations:
1. "Hey, you're thin!"
2. "Hey, you're fat!"
Often, people would say #2 is MEAN. Why wouldn't you say the same with #1?
I am thin and I think #1 is either plain rude, or just a friendly statement from a FAT MOUTH.
So, as long as I don't look like this . . . .
P/S : If u think this post is OFFENSIVE to fat people, read again. Fat in here was a positive adjective. If not, maybe I'm the next Kate Moss!
So long!

ReplyDeleteMel, I do get a lot of those "why the weight loss?"..."hey,you're thin!" and they got me to my nerve! And yes, to me those are offensive remarks when being skinny has taken over 90% of their memories remembering us as US and 90% of our lifetime of being US, like this.
ReplyDeleteSo why the bother? Haih.
I feel you and yeah, they better keep their thoughts and words to THEMSELVES, thnkuvrymch!
Everybody seems to be talking about weight issues these days. Penangan Biggest Loser kot...
ReplyDeleteBut anyway, I don't give a damn. ^_^
bagi aku lah, such question is appropriately asked when there is a SIGNIFICANT change of weight. apart from that, i do wonder why the "why"...MYOB.
