Here are what I got during my daily Internet surfing session - the pictures that won't make it to the media and an interesting Q&A by people worldwide with an Israeli.

“Do any Jews and Arabs live together in peace within Israel?”

There are more than 1 million Arabs that live “within Israel” – that Israel gave citizenship to after the Jews came back to Israel in 1948. These Jews and Arabs live together in Israel in peace. Cities like Haifa and Beer Sheva are cities where Jews and Arabs live together in peace. This is not a war between Jews and Arabs, it is a war against Hamas, a terrorist organization which became the elected government of Gaza. Hamas has always had a goal to destroy as many of the Jewish people and as much of Israel as it can.

“What’s it like living in Israel right now?”

That depends on where someone lives in the country. Last week we thought we might be on the verge of war starting in the North after rockets were fired into Israel. A rocket exploded in the kitchen of a nursing home while residents were eating in the next room. The North was put on high alert.

Today 13 rockets fell in the south as of 4PM our time here as the sun is going down. One missile directly hit a home in Ashkelon as the family ran for the bomb shelter. This morning Hamas stated that they are NOT interested in a truce with Israel. For the past 6 years rockets have CONTINUALLY been fired into southern Israel, keeping many residents near Gaza (such as Sederot) in a state of constant alert and for many, constant fear. The Israeli government should have acted years ago to put an end to the terror and murder. I reported two years ago, that a neighbor of my cousin was killed when a rocket directly hit her as she was on her porch, killing her instantly and blowing up the house – though no one else was inside. The government did not act then and they have been very patient for the past 6 years. With so many rockets blowing up in Israel every day, action finally had to be taken.

“Are there Jewish Believers and ministry workers or their relatives in that area, so that we know how to pray?”

Since 2002 thousands of rockets fired by Hamas have landed in Southern Israel where many of my family lives and many Believers live. There are a number of Messianic congregations and fellowships within rocket range of Hamas rockets In Ashdod, Askelon and Beer Sheva. Many of the Believers and my family in the south are living day by day, not knowing if when they are asleep or driving if a rocket will end their life. Depending on how close you are to the border of course brings the intensity up, however these days you never know where a rocket will land, and they are reaching farther and farther. Everybody wants to live in peace, but this will only happen if the Israeli Army can destroy the infrastructure of Hamas. Until then, the wailing sirens and bomb shelters are part of daily life.

“What is the truth, is the media telling us everything – I hear different things, what’s the truth?”

You must understand who Hamas is. Unlike a normal army which plays by the rules, Hamas which has always been a terrorist organization (voted in by the people of Gaza as their government) hides its weaponry and rockets in mosques, homes, schools, and civilian homes. The Israeli army has done everything to limit civilian casualties however Hamas hides their gunmen and artillery behind women and children, making them unforeseen casualties. Hamas solders wear civilian clothing or even stolen Israeli army uniforms, and since Israel will not fire on civilians, out of nowhere these civilians turn around and fire their weapons. Islam does not see life as precious. Hamas train their children 4 years of age and up with machine guns, grenades, rocket launches, and fitting them with suicide belts. Yes, they place suicide belts on small children. The Palestinians of Hamas use their children and they hide behind their children. Can you imagine doing this to your children? Here in Israel, we protect our children and we do everything to protect the innocent civilians, men, women, and children in Gaza. The media does NOT report this.
